Matt was born in Memphis, TN, and raised on the family farm in Pemiscot County, MO. He graduated from Caruthersville High School before attending Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. He is the 4th generation actively farming and managing the family farm, out of Hayti, MO. Matt married his high school sweetheart, Erin, and are raising their four children, Miller, Marcy, Garner, and Eliza.
Matt was introduced to hunting, farming, and the outdoors by his father at a young age and has remained active in those pursuits since. He enjoys any opportunity to spend time in God’s creation, whether that’s in a deer stand, working ground in a tractor, or hiking with family.
Matt is passionate about the land and working to achieve the highest and best use for that land. A steward of each unique tract’s gifts and a willingness to dig deep and find ways to improve it.
Aside from farming and hunting, Matt enjoys all things Mississippi State University, sports with his kids, and working with his dog Oak.
“I am blessed to get to spend my life in the outdoors. The farm and woods hold a truly special place in my heart. It’s my passion and goal to work with landowners and buyers to help them on their journey with the land - whether buying your dream property, an income-producing farm or working with sellers to take their land to market. I look forward to serving those clients and am honored to be part of the PFRG family.”
