Charlie

Charlie was born and raised in a small town in Southeast Missouri, Wayne County. She graduated from Greenville High School and attended Three Rivers College before marrying her high school sweetheart Wes, who had enlisted in the US Army. Military life was definitely an adventure for this small-town girl, who had barely been out of the state of Missouri; however, it was an adventure that she was ready to embrace.

After their travels enabled them to experience the busy city life of Washington DC, and the amazingly beautiful island life of Hawaii, the couple finally settled into the rich-in-history town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where they lived for 20 years. “Gettysburg will always be our home away from home. We have made some great memories there and even greater friendships.” During the majority of her time in Pennsylvania, Charlie worked for a multi-discipline engineering firm.

Upon Wes’s retirement from the government, they felt the time was right to follow their heart back to their roots. In early 2019, with their English Bulldog Louie in tow, they moved back to their hometown and bought some land where they currently reside and raise cattle. “We had a plan once we decided to move home and stuck with it. When you love the outdoors, having it at your disposal is heaven on earth. Having your own property and being able to hunt, fish, raise livestock, ride your side-by-side or just sit and watch the sunset is priceless. This is why I decided to pursue a career in real estate, so that I can provide others the opportunity to achieve this same dream.”

Aside from real estate and raising cattle, Charlie also enjoys writing. She recently became a published author of her first children’s book. “This was definitely such a fun and exciting experience that I am anxious to start on my next one.” She also operates Lost Creek Market during the spring and summer months and dabbles in photography.

Dale

Dale was raised in the small town of Pevely, MO, and was introduced to the outdoors at a very early age by his father. That early introduction into the outdoor lifestyle has grown into a passion for Dale, and he now enjoys hunting and fishing all over the country. Dale attended Herculaneum High School, where he excelled as a baseball and basketball player. After high school, Dale attended Murray State University on a baseball scholarship. After college, Dale joined the family business, Dunn’s Sporting Goods, and helped grow that business from a two-store operation to a successful four-store chain.

After 13 years in the hunting and fishing business, Dale decided to get into the real estate business and focus on rural properties. It didn’t take long for Dale to figure out that this was his calling, and after a three-year stint with a major outdoor broker, he decided it was time to start his own company, Premier Farm Realty Group & Auction. “I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit”, says Dale.” I am sure I got that from my mom and dad, who I watched work very hard in the family business. The work ethic they displayed was remarkable, and thankfully some of that has rubbed off on me.”

Dale is also a regular on Outdoor Channel’s television show, Scent Lok’s High Places. “I know it is a cliché, but I feel fortunate to travel around the country and do what we do for our TV show. We hunt some of the best places available, and I get to do it with some of my best friends too. I pinch myself sometimes.” Another passion Dale enjoys is growing and holding game on the nearly 800 acres he manages in north Missouri.” I enjoy everything about farms, both the recreational kind and income-producing. Creating habitat is the key for all types of game to thrive on a particular piece of property. I feel that I am pretty well versed in what it takes, from timber management, native grass restoration, food plots, nesting and broodering habitat, and on and on. You have to have a plan and follow thru with that plan. It is a very rewarding experience to own and manage your own property, and see not only the deer herd improve, but also see the quail, turkeys, and rabbits thrive. It is also rewarding to share this with people who share the same passion, and that is why I love the farm business so much!”

Dale is also the founder of the Cuivre River Wildlife Management Association. This association started in 2008, is the flagship model for these types of associations within the state of Missouri. The mission of the CRWMA is to enhance wildlife habitat in a specific area, and to recruit youth in our communities into the outdoor lifestyle. “The 32,000-acre focus area was full of cooperating landowners. I felt that if we could all get on the same page, we could make it a hunting mecca. What I found out is that in most cases, your neighbor wants the same thing you do, so get with them and talk about it. Wildlife knows no borders, especially deer. It is very difficult for one person to own enough property to hold a buck. When he jumps the fence at 2 years old, he needs to be passed on.”

Dale has four children, Grant, Garrett, Jackson, and Rylie. “I love my children more than anything, and it is important to me that they get to enjoy the great outdoors just like I did. My dad started taking me squirrel and dove hunting long before I could carry a gun, and we created some memories that are so precious to me. I want the same thing for my kids.”
